Tesla’s Cost-Saving Production Method Could Revolutionize Electric Car Industry

The high cost of producing an electric car goes largely to the battery, but this does not mean that savings cannot be made elsewhere. According to its own words, the car company Tesla found a way to save roughly half of the costs just by the method of production.

He calls the method “unboxed”, i.e. “unboxed”, and the principle is that small groups of workers will simultaneously assemble the individual units of the car, which will then be combined during the final assembly. The advantages include, for example, that while the entire car is painted on conventional production lines, in the Tesla method only those parts that need to be painted would be painted.

Automotive proof-of-concept firm Caresoft said it has created a digital copy of the method. According to her, it is technically feasible and has the potential for large financial savings. Analysts from Bloomberg Intelligence estimate a reduction in production costs by a third.

However, the method has not yet been tested and its implementation will cost money and time. However, if Tesla succeeds, it would gain a major lead over other electric car manufacturers.

Elon Musk used to win Tesla customers, now he may be turning them away, according to a survey
