Tesla with record profits

(Elbil24): The profit increased from just under 104 million dollars – which is equivalent to 920 million kroner – in the same period last year. Turnover almost doubled during the period and ended at close to 12 billion dollars, or 105 billion kroner.

The car manufacturer produced more than 206,000 cars during the period and delivered just over 201,000. It is also a new record for the electric car manufacturer.

In the quarterly results, Tesla repeated the forecast for 2021 and points out that the company expects to achieve 50 per cent annual growth in car deliveries over several years.

– In a few years, we will probably grow faster, something we expect to happen in 2021, the car manufacturer states.

At the same time, Tesla signals that the company is not immune to the lack of computer chips, battery cells and other parts that have forced General Motors, Ford and other car manufacturers to cut production. That is why it is much talked about the tractor, part of the company’s investment in trucks, postponed until sometime next year. It was launched in 2017.

“With record high demand globally, the supply of parts will have a major impact on how much our delivery can grow the rest of the year,” says Tesla.

The company points to progress with the factory in Germany and in Texas in the USA, which will produce Model Y cars later this year. Production in China went well despite minor delivery problems, according to the car manufacturer.
