Tesla Supercharger V4: New 350kW Charging Equipment and European Installations Revealed

The electric car manufacturer Tesla has confirmed that the new version of the Tesla Supercharger V4 charging equipment will allow cars to be charged with up to 350 kW of power, significantly reducing the time spent on charging. The existence of a new Tesla charging facility was known as late as last year, but the installation of the Supercharger V4 in Europe has begun this year.

Tesla has not yet officially unveiled the Supercharger V4 charging facility, so scraps of information are being gleaned from exploring plans for new charging points and other means. The Supercharger V4 is known to have a longer charging cable and a place for the screen as well as a bank card reader. A requirement has been introduced in the European Union, which provides that on the main roads of the TEN-T network, there should be electric car charging points at a certain distance from each other, where the customer can pay with his bank card without any subscription fees or other burdens.

This information on Supercharger V4 available charging capacity comes from planning documents for a new charging site in the UK. For now, Tesla cars are unable to charge with the maximum power of 350kW and there are very few cars that can fully use such chargers. 350kW chargers are also used in the IONITY charging network.
