Tesla’s electric cars are known for their sense of technology, among which models such as Model 3 and Model Y use a full touch screen to control most of the functions of the car. Although the large screen looks cool, you have to look at the screen every time you adjust the temperature or turn on the water, which means that your eyes need to move away from the road while driving, and the actual operation may cause safety problems. To solve this problem, Greenmission from Norway has launched a Ctrl-Bar physical button set for Tesla. Founded in 2019, Greenmission is a company that specializes in providing wireless charging devices for Tesla cars.
The Ctrl-Bar is powered via a hidden USB cable, and the entire system syncs with the Tesla via a mobile app. Its appearance is simple, there are only two rotary knobs on the surface for adjusting the temperature; and four buttons that can be customized by the user. Users can set different button combinations to control different functions of Tesla, including turning on pet mode, starting seat heater, defrosting and so on. In addition, Ctrl-Bar also has built-in multi-color LED lights, which can act as ambient lights.
Greenmission said that because Ctrl-Bar uses Bluetooth to connect to the user’s mobile phone and then transmits it back to the car through the Tesla application on the mobile phone, the user needs to maintain an Internet connection when using it.
