(Reuters) – Women employees at Tesla’s main production site (NASDAQ 🙂 face nightmarish and widespread harassment and factory executives are turning a blind eye to the phenomenon, says a new complaint examined by the US justice.
Jessica Barraza, one of them, says she has suffered inappropriate contact on an almost daily basis since working in the factory in Fremont, California, where she works night shifts.
On the site for three years, this 38-year-old mother of two says her male colleagues have become accustomed to making offers to her, staring at her breasts, commenting on her physique or even brushing her in an allegedly accidental manner. .
Jessica Barraza says she alerted her hierarchy, without success.
Contacted by Reuters, Tesla did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
This is not the first time that the company run by Elon Musk has been targeted by allegations of mistreatment. On October 4, the Californian courts ordered her to pay $ 136.9 million to Owen Diaz, a former employee who claimed to be the victim of racist behavior, a decision against which Tesla decided to appeal.
