Elon Musk has finally unveiled an electric serial Tesla semi truck – The first machines have already been delivered to customers. The tractor is designed for a total weight of just over 37 tons as part of a road train. The device is set in motion by three electric motors: two of them on the third axis are responsible for acceleration, and one motor on the central axis is responsible for maintaining straight-line movement along the highway.
The horsepower of the electric motors is not reported, but it is claimed that the fully loaded Hook will accelerate to 60 mph in 20 seconds, meaning it will reach top speed on the highway faster than its internal combustion engine competitors, which will have a positive effect on reducing cargo delivery time. The battery capacity (with an energy consumption of 1.24 kWh/km) is around 600 and 1000 kWh, respectively for the versions with a declared mileage of 300 and 500 miles.
First of all, Semi will be received by those who pre-ordered in 2017, after paying $20,000. Then prices were announced at the level of $150,000 for the 300-mile version, and $180,000 for the Semi with a range of 500 miles. Probably, after the issuance of all reserved cars, the cost of Tesla electric tractors will increase.
Ural Automobile Plant, like others, produces limited modifications for trucks: chassis, tractors and dump trucks. However, the Urals acquire a number of other professions in the workshops of partner companies.
Among these partners, Spetstekhkomplekt celebrates its 18th anniversary. He is engaged in the sale of cars of the Ural brand, as well as ongoing maintenance, warranty and repairs, including the departure of mobile service teams to the workplace of cars. In addition, its structure includes the StroyDorMash plant of the city of Aramil, near Yekaterinburg.
A new production site has recently been opened with modern equipment. It produces various add-ons on the Ural chassis: workshops, workshops, shift buses, vans, flatbed vehicles with CMUs and timber trucks. And in the near future, the production of tanks will begin.
Petersburg, unlike the capital, continues to use traditional electric transport – trolleybuses. At the same time, it does not shy away from the latest developments in the sector, electric buses. But, of course, far from being on a Moscow scale: so far there are only a dozen Volgabasovs and one experienced MAZ in the park. Interestingly, the most popular cars – LiAZ and KAMAZ – are not used in St. Petersburg.
And this week, another exotic electric bus, Sinara-6253. It differs from its competitors in an increased power reserve of up to 250 kilometers. It can be charged in different ways: through a stationary magazine – in four hours, through a pantograph – in an hour. The ninety-seater low-floor electric bus is obviously equipped with all the modern “gadgets”: an ADAS driver assistance system, 11 surveillance cameras, USB chargers, Wi-Fi and an air conditioning system. The testing of the electric bus will last six months, after which its certification will begin.
