Tesla Redesigns Model 3 for Chinese Market, Increases Mileage by 9%

Tesla has improved the design and mileage performance of the Model 3, the representative model in the Chinese electric vehicle market, for the first time in six years.

Bloomberg News and CNBC reported on the 1st of local time that it was the first time that Model 3 has improved its appearance like this since it was first produced six years ago.

According to Tesla’s Chinese sales site, the newly released Model 3 has a sleeker design at the front of the vehicle, and the mileage on a single charge has increased by 9% to 606km.

In addition, an 8-inch rear touchscreen and speakers for the sound system have been added.

However, the price is 259,900 yuan, about 47 million won in our money, which is 12% more expensive.

Bloomberg News analyzed that although the price competitiveness of the Model 3 has declined, it needed to be renewed in order to catch up with Chinese competitors who are expanding the product range of Biyadina, an electric vehicle leader that aims to sell 3 million units this year.

The improved Model 3 is on sale on Tesla’s website in China, Europe, the Middle East and Australia, but not yet sold in the US.
