Tesla recalled 200 thousand vehicles

In the statement of the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), it was noted that Tesla recalled certain Model S, X and Y vehicles for 2023, equipped with the company’s fully autonomous 4.0 system, due to a software error.

It was stated in the statement that software instability may prevent the rear camera from being displayed, and it was emphasized that this situation would reduce the driver’s field of view and increase the risk of accidents.

For this reason, 199 thousand 575 vehicles were recalled.

Tesla has released a software update that can be done remotely to solve the problem. Vehicle owners affected by the recall are expected to be notified starting March 22.

Within the scope of recalls, which mean that automakers find a potential safety problem with their vehicles, manufacturers generally provide free repair services, while affected customers are notified by letter or other communication channels.
