Tesla opens two showrooms in Central and Eastern Europe

Tesla continues its expansion in Central and Eastern Europe. The electric car company will now officially offer its electric cars in Hungary and Romania, reports Elektrek.

There will be two Tesla showrooms in Hungary and Romania – in Budapest and Bucharest. There are already several charging stations in both countries, and a service is planned to start operating in the Hungarian capital.

Market entry in Central and Eastern Europe has been planned for some time but is quite complicated due to the lack of infrastructure from service stations and charging stations that Tesla has to provide. Musk said he hopes to officially step into Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia and most of Eastern Europe in 2021.

“We want Nikola Tesla to be proud of us when we release our cars in his homeland,” Musk wrote on Twitter.

Although a car manufacturer can accept orders before it has a service center, the company usually does not start deliveries until it has at least one service center on the market in a given country.

The company also plans to build several charging stations around Kiev.
