Tesla opens access to their superchargers

Tesla has recently given other manufacturers of electric cars access to 10 of their superchargers around the Netherlands during a pilot project, writes Coach. As of today, Tesla has approximately 25,000 superchargers worldwide, and this is seen as one of the main reasons for their enormous success.

Common charging system

Recently, the pressure from regulatory authorities in the direction of electric car manufacturers and car charger manufacturers has grown sharply in the hope of forming a common system for electric car chargers, so that any electric car can charge at all charging stations.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently hinted that they have considered giving all electric car manufacturers access to their charging systems, and a statement from Tesla stated that “it has always been Tesla’s ambition to give other electric cars access to our charging network, hoping to Engage more people to switch to electric cars. This will directly contribute to our overall goal of accelerating the world’s transition to renewable energy.

Trial project in the Netherlands

The pilot project in the Netherlands will give other electric cars access to 10 different charging locations through the Tesla app. The pilot project will only be available to Dutch people, and the car must have a CCS charging plug. Car brands other than Tesla must, however, pay an extra cost that is incurred to ensure that the charging locations can handle more and different types of vehicles.
