Tesla Model Y – How to get it the fastest

Faced with challenges such as the corona shutdown in China and the war in Ukraine, which has resulted in a lack of semiconductors, computer chips, wiring harnesses and other vital parts from subcontractors, more and more car manufacturers in Europe are cutting back on the option of choosing equipment for their cars. This is to ensure that customers receive their cars as quickly as possible.

Tesla’s new, large factory in Berlin, which builds the Model Y for the Norwegian market, has since the start only been able to deliver cars with the color black or white – or “solid black” or “pearl white”, which is the official name for the colors.

Red from China

If you absolutely want the colors red, blue or silver, you must get the car from Tesla’s factory in Shanghai, China.

In that case, you cannot expect to get the car until March next year at the earliest, according to the German magazine Automobilwoche. The cars from the factory in Berlin can probably be delivered before Christmas.

The factory in Berlin has stopped for 12 days for summer vacation and to make upgrades to the workstations, so that the pace of production can be increased. The aim is to produce 500,000 cars this year, when the factory is up and running at full capacity.

Norway’s best seller

Since it came on the market in August last year, initially with cars from the factory in Shanghai, the Tesla Model Y has been the best-selling car in Norway.

So far this year, 6,168 examples of the electric SUV have been sold, almost twice as many as the VW ID4 GTX which is number two on the list.

Very good interior space, a range of over 50 miles and four-wheel drive as standard are some of the features that have caused Norwegian car buyers to queue up for the Model Y.

Due to the summer holidays, no one at Tesla Norway has been available to comment on this matter on Tuesday.
