In the USA, the life of a driver was saved thanks to the autopilot in the Tesla Model Y electric car. The motorist spoke about this on his account on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
On April 1, Tesla made the Full Self-Driving autopilot feature available in the United States. According to the user, whose name is Max Paul Franklin, the next day he was driving and suddenly felt unwell. As it turned out, the driver’s insulin pump had broken down, causing his glucose levels to spike. The man decided to turn on full autopilot mode. The electric car was able to travel 21 km without driver intervention and take it to the hospital, where it parked itself. The user added that he suffered a mild heart attack, but is already feeling well. He also expressed gratitude to Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
Before this, it became known that Tesla would recall 2.2 million cars for repairs. The recalled vehicles were equipped with small font warning messages on the dashboard. This applies to Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck.
In April, Elon Musk announced the premiere date for Tesla’s robotic taxi. According to him, the debut will take place on August 8. Musk announced the premiere date for Tesla’s robotic taxi shortly after Reuters, citing sources, reported that the American automaker abandoned plans to release an inexpensive mass-produced electric car, but retained plans to develop a robotic taxi on its platform.
