Elon Musk promised the launch of a more affordable electric car back in 2013, when the brand’s only current product was the larger Model S electric sedan. We had to wait for the official debut until 2016, when Tesla fully launched its offensive and began to dominate the global sale of electric cars. Just one week after the unveiling ceremony, it received 325,000 reservations, representing a potential revenue of 14 billion US dollars.
The first production Tesla Model 3 subsequently left the production line on July 7, 2017, and the first thirty cars were delivered to customers on July 28. The very first produced piece ended up in the hands of the executive director of the brand, Elon Musk. As early as July 2018, the automaker managed to achieve the original goal of producing 5,000 cars per week, and in June 2021, the Model 3 was the first electric car produced in its millionth copy.
The latest information from the Automobile Importers Association states that it is currently Tesla Model 3 is the second best-selling car of the brand in the Czech Republic. Only the more modern compact SUV Model Y is more successful. At the same time, the Czech basic price for the cheapest Tesla starts from 1,028,990 crowns for the standard variant with rear-wheel drive and a range of up to 491 kilometers. Long Range and Performance four-wheelers are also available for more demanding customers.
The Tesla Model 3 has brought a technical revolution to the global electric car market, as it is a full-fledged alternative to conventional combustion cars, without limiting its users with low range or slow charging. And it did it at a fraction of the price compared to the more mature Model S, with which Elon Musk started building one of the most respected automotive brands today.
