Tesla has launched a special business version of the Model Y in France with only two seats. The second row of seats has been removed and thus a substantial 2158 liters of luggage space has been obtained. This version of the car is also able to provide a mileage of up to 565 km (WLTP), as well as in France it allows the application of commercial transport taxes and tax benefits.
Such an “improved” Tesla model was most likely launched in France, as 2-3-seater cars are very common there, which are used in commercial mode and receive tax benefits accordingly. In total, there are around 6.3 million commercial vehicles in this country, and Tesla considers it a big enough market pie to take a bite out of. And it cannot be said that removing the second row of seats costs the company too much for a ready-made car.
