Tesla is recalling more than 300,000 cars in the US

According to the safety institute, the software makes it possible for speed limits to be exceeded. Teslas can also drive through intersections in an unauthorized or unpredictable manner. “The feature could potentially violate local traffic laws, increasing the risk of accidents,” the agency said.

The recall concerns the Model S, made between 2016 and 2023, the Model X, made from 2017 and the Model Y, built from 2022. It concerns cars with so-called Full Self-Driving software (FSD).

Tesla says it can solve the problem with a software update. The manufacturer also says that it is not aware of serious accidents due to the defect.
