Tesla presented the long-awaited robotaxi at an event in the US. The car, officially announced CyberCabtaking design inspiration from Download cyber truck and unlike many other robotaxi prototypes that have been released in recent years, the Tesla will be available for private customers.

The electric car is equipped with Tesla’s latest autonomous driving systems and around 50 examples have already been produced. The head of the automaker, Elon Musk, says that production will begin in 2026, although he warned that when the car appears it could be too optimistic. He also clarified that it should be available for purchase for less than $30,000.

Because the CyberCab was designed without a steering wheel or pedals, Tesla won’t be able to start manufacturing and sell it to customers without first getting regulatory approval.

As expected from any new Tesla model, the interior is very small, offering seating for two and featuring a large central infotainment screen that looks like it was lifted straight from a Model 3 or Model Y.

From the outside, it looks like a rather narrow car with a sloping roof Volkswagen XL1 from 2013. Like the electric cybertruck, a single full-width LED light bar dominates the front, giving it a futuristic look.

Some familiar Tesla shapes are visible from the outside as well, including a sharp crease running across the hood and prominent shoulders on the rear, similar to the Model Y. The upward-opening doors on inspired by supercars. In theory, they should help with entry and exit.

At the event called We robot, Tesla also showed the robot Optimus a CyberVanwhich looks even more futuristic than the CyberCab. The mobile cube can accommodate up to 20 people and will also be available for commercial purposes. It should offer direct running costs of around $0.05-$0.10 per mile. However, Musk did not reveal when it is true to get such a car on the road.
