Gasoline and diesel have become significantly more expensive as a result of the Ukraine war. But even Tesla drivers have to dig deeper into their pockets.
Austin – Anyone who still drives a petrol or diesel engine has not had it easy in the past few months. The price at the pump kept shooting up and repeatedly reached new record values due to the war in Ukraine*. Drivers of electric cars had it much more comfortable there, the prices remained relatively stable. But here, too, there are more and more price increases. So the Stadtwerke München announced a drastic price increase*, a little bit later Hamburg Energie followed suit*. And Tesla is also turning the price screw again.
In recent months, Tesla has repeatedly raised the prices of its superchargers. This was last the case in March, when the price for a kilowatt hour of electricity increased by three cents. Now at least two cents per kilowatt hour are added, as reported by “Teslamag”. The prices for the superchargers are now between 50 and 52 cents/kWh, as a tweet from the user “Tesla_Adri” shows.

However, charging with the superchargers is not only becoming expensive in Germany, but also in other European countries. In the Netherlands, Tesla made a significant impact, where a kilowatt hour now costs around 45 cents instead of the previous 35 cents. Price increases were also reported from Norway and Portugal.
Located in Germany Tesla* after the most recent price adjustment, now at about the same level as the EnBW charging stations. There, 55 cents per kilowatt hour are currently due. Those who conclude a contract including a basic fee will get away with it a bit cheaper at 45 cents. The Ionity charging network is a little more expensive at 79 cents per kWh, but contract customers save significantly here too.

Similar to the fuel prices, the current price increases are related to the war in Ukraine. This has ensured that the exchange price for electricity has risen sharply, as “ecomento.de” reports. This also affects the providers of charging stations and thus also Tesla’s supercharger.
