Tesla Implements Electric Car Discount Policy in Several Countries

Jakarta

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has again implemented an electric car discount policy in a number of countries where it is sold. The policy is expected to increase Tesla’s demand for electric cars from the United States to be even more in demand.

Quoted from Carscoops, Tesla has announced price cuts in several European countries, including Germany and France. Tesla also enforced the same thing in Singapore and Israel.

In Germany, the prices for the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y are down about 4.5% and 9.8%, respectively, from their normal prices. In fact, in January 2023, the price of Tesla electric cars in Germany has decreased by around 17%.

Meanwhile in France the price for the Tesla Model 3 is now priced starting at USD 49,436 or the equivalent of Rp. 735 million, where the French government will provide subsidies with an assistance figure of around USD 4,594 or the equivalent of Rp. 68.3 million.

Still according to the same source, the price of Tesla in Singapore has also been confirmed to have fallen between 4.3% and 5%. Meanwhile, in Israel, the price of the entry-level Tesla Model 3 is reduced by 25%.

Previously, Elon Musk had confirmed that Tesla’s price would continue to fall to meet market demand. “Our mission is to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. Our master plan has laid out a clear path for achieving that mission: the cost-effective transformation of a small serial product into a less expensive mass serial vehicle,” Tesla wrote in a recent statement.

Tesla’s quarterly sales records reveal a 6% increase in Tesla Model 3 and Y shipments. But on the other hand, Model S and X fell significantly by 38%. It is suspected that Tesla has cut the price of its electric cars because there are more and more competitors in the market, especially from South Korean and Japanese manufacturers.
