Of course not, but they are really extremes. The civil service is also unimaginably large, cumbersome and expensive in the Netherlands.
Here are some apartment complexes in a park. From the road one has no idea where the entrance is, which house numbers are there, etc. It took the municipality a year and a half to place a sign that was much too small, despite the procedure had already started during construction.
The sign is small and in the wrong place. Now a procedure has been started to move and enlarge it. That has been going on for 2 years now and the VVEs and the district have almost given up. The first board already cost €11,000 to place.
Similar problem with a red post, which you can easily remove for emergency services, movers, etc. After a few complaints, a permanent sign was placed there, in no time.
The fire brigade came by once and reported that that is really not possible, the pole must be removable. That was 9 months ago..
By the way, this is in Amsterdam.. perhaps the best example of how not to organize a municipality
We are really hopelessly overdone. I also fear for the upcoming Intel factory in Germany.. already feel sorry for Intel!
