Recently, the Tesla Cybertruck has been unable to demonstrate proper driving skills in difficult terrain, and its off-road performance has been questioned. However, this time, a video of the Cybertruck showing off its off-road skills was released, proving its toughness.
A video released recently shows three pre-production version Cybertrucks undergoing off-road testing successfully completing the test.
The first video uploaded to YouTube shows the Cybertruck climbing a hill over very difficult terrain. The terrain looks very slippery as it is covered with large rocks and dust.
After listening to the man’s explanation, the driver stepped on the accelerator pedal hard and climbed to the top at high speed, blowing up dust. If the speed had been low, it is expected that he would not have been able to reach the top.
Antonio Torres, who uploaded the three videos to YouTube, said in his explanation, “Of the three attempts, two were successful, but I won’t reveal the ones that failed.”
The worst-case scenario would have been that the driver wasn’t driving at full speed, causing the truck to rise halfway and then slide back down. But this didn’t happen.
Another video shows a cybertruck easily going down a steep slope. Perhaps with the help of the off-roader’s slope control system, it went down with the brakes applied continuously.
This video is the first to show that the Cybertruck is capable even in rough terrain. Cybertruck is known as a powerful off-roader in terms of specifications. It provides a ground clearance of 17.4 inches (about 442 mm), an approach angle of 35 degrees, and a departure angle of 28 degrees. Additionally, the Cybertruck is equipped with an air suspension that can raise the ground clearance by 12 inches (approximately 305 mm).
Cybertruck off-road driving videos that were previously shared on the Internet caused disappointment and embarrassment to netizens. Last October, a video was released showing two prototypes with the letters RC having difficulty clearing a ‘stairs’ obstacle at Hollister Hills SVRA in California.
Afterwards, the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T achieved notable success on the same route, creating a contrast.
Recently, a video was released on social media showing a cybertruck carrying Christmas trees struggling to get out of a steep, snowy and muddy uphill road in a California national forest. In the end, the Cybertruck was barely rescued with the help of a Ford truck and suffered embarrassment.
