Tesla Cuts Model 3 and Model Y Prices in the US After Disappointing Q3 Deliveries: CNBC

Tesla has cut the price of certain versions of the Model 3 and Model Y in the US after the company presented delivery figures for the third quarter that did not meet expectations, writes CNBC.

The starting price for the Model 3 is now 38,990 dollars on Tesla’s website, down from 40,240 dollars, or just under 4.3 million Norwegian kroner, previously. The price of the somewhat more equipped Model 3 Performance is down to $50,990 from $53,240 previously. The Tesla Model Y Performance now has a starting price of $52,490, down from $54,490, the news agency reports.

At the end of last year, Tesla started to lower the price of its cars in order to boost sales in the US and China after increased competition from other electric car manufacturers.

Tesla often adjusts the price of its cars, especially in countries where it has the largest market, such as the US and China. The latest round of price cuts comes just days after the automaker reported 435,059 deliveries in the third quarter, a drop from the previous quarter.
