Tesla will stop the forum section of its site and create a new social network called the Tesla Engagement Platform, Techcrunch reported. The first stage of this transition will begin in the middle of the month, when the company’s users will not be able to post in its forums.
Instead, the electric car maker invites them to continue the dialogue on engage.tesla.com.
But at least for now, this social network is probably not exactly what its users expect. It seems that its clients will be able to simply comment on publications related to the company’s public policy and the latest news around it, such as the fundraising fund in support of Texas and the like.
“Engage Tesla is a new platform for both the company’s public policy team and the electric car owners’ clubs,” reads the first post on the new website. “Its goal is to create a digital home for all our work and help Tesla owners learn the news around the company, take meaningful action and stay connected.”
However, the comments below this post are not very positive about the new campaign of the electric car manufacturer. “Don’t stop the forums. This is not a substitute for them. The forums have sparked important discussions and helped us owners make informed decisions,” one comment said, most with similar views.
There are enough forums on the Internet aimed at Tesla, but the probable reason for stopping the corporate one is the fact that the company does not have enough resources to afford moderators to delete spam and troll comments in it, it is clear from The Verge, who refer to a source with “inside information”.
