The Tesla Cybertruck is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated electric cars in recent years. It is perhaps the most anticipated in the history of electric cars to date, considering that the launch of the model has been delayed for several years. Tesla is scheduled to hold a celebratory “Delivery Event” to deliver the first Cybertruck to its customers on November 30, but the event might not be as grand as expected.
Javier Verdura, Tesla’s director of global product design, said in his speech in the Mexican city of Monterrey that only ten cars will be delivered at the upcoming Tesla event. It was just one small part of his speech, basically just a sentence or two, but we all know that the devil is in the details.
Of course, almost any news in the context of Tesla should be treated with some skepticism, but Verdura is a high-ranking Tesla employee, so he likely knows what he’s talking about.
Tesla has practiced this practice before, that is, to deliver a small number of cars at a celebratory event, but then gradually start deliveries for real, slowly increasing the volumes. It is not yet known how many Cybertruck units Tesla is able to produce in one day, one week. Previously, the head of the company, Elon Musk, said that it is a very complex product and it will take time to achieve a significant production volume. Musk, in his uncharacteristic manner, has also invited people to slow down a bit with what they expect from this car in general.
