Tesla buries “Spotify Premium” vehicle account

Starting December 1, 2024, the Spotify Premium vehicle account will no longer be automatically included with Tesla’s Premium Connectivity subscription.

To continue using Spotify in the vehicle, users must either log in with their personal Spotify account or update the vehicle account with their personal email address. To continue using the vehicle account, a software update to version 2024.32.4 is required. Tesla is currently actively informing its customers about this.

Spotify account information is updated directly via the Spotify app in the vehicle. To do this, open the app, go to the “Account” tab and scan the QR code displayed to log in or update your vehicle account details. Regardless, Tesla owners can continue to manage their premium connectivity subscription as usual in the Tesla app or cancel if necessary.

Tesla’s Spotify Premium vehicle account allowed drivers to directly access a pre-installed premium account in the vehicle without having to have a personal Spotify account. This allowed users to play ad-free music, playlists and other Spotify content directly via the vehicle’s infotainment system.
