The official Tesla app has received a useful update for iPhone owners
A number of vehicle functions can be set within the Shortcuts automation application
Thanks to this, you can also control your Tesla through Siri
Tesla cars changed not only the public’s view of electromobility, but also of vehicle control and its relationship to modern technology. These have always played a secondary role with traditional vehicle manufacturers, and using infotainments even with well-known brands was a rather unpleasant experience. Tesla, on the other hand, placed all the controls in a large tablet, which, although from an ergonomic point of view, is not an ideal solution, on the other hand, it is a very welcoming step towards modern technologies.
Tesla can be controlled through Shortcuts and with the help of the Siri assistant
For Tesla owners, it is also a matter of course to use the mobile application, which not only displays essential information about the vehicle, but also allows some of its functions to be controlled remotely. In the case of the Texas automaker, third-party applications can even be used to control the car, which often offer many more functions. However, now the original app is getting an interesting update that was previously only available for paid alternative apps such as Tessie.
The official Tesla app finally gets along with Apple’s Shortcuts
Version 4.24.0 of the Tesla app brings support for the Siri voice assistant, specifically the Shortcuts app. These enable easy and quick setting of a whole range of automations, which you can invoke, for example, with a virtual button, or just through a Siri command. Although this is a slightly more cumbersome solution than the direct integration of Siri, on the other hand, iPhone owners have at least some option to remotely control the functions of their Tesla with the help of voice commands.

Regarding the available functions, it is worth mentioning, for example, the ability to lock/unlock the car, control the heating and air conditioning, and defrost the windows. opening/closing the windows, changing the volume of the music being played, honking, opening the doors, trunk or hood, setting the charging limit or turning on/off the battery charging. Triggering multiple vehicle modes, such as dog mode or camping mode, may also be a useful trick for some. Although the app could support a lot more shortcuts to control the Tesla, it’s a solid load to start with, and it’s sure to make it easier for a number of users to control their vehicle.
