A couple had been arrested on Thursday, June 30, after malicious calls raising fears of a terrorist attack in a commercial area of Toulouse. Agreed, the man and the woman were left free.
Malicious calls and an entire perimeter cordoned off. Thursday, June 30 in the morning, phone calls made to traders and the police made people think of a possible “terrorist attack” in Toulouse. The Raid was mobilized… probably for nothing.
Considered a suspect, a couple was arrested and heard by investigators from the territorial direction of the judicial police in charge of the case. After their hearing, the man and the woman were released. The perpetrator(s) of the malicious callers are still at large and the investigation is ongoing.
The multiple alerts received by telephone Thursday morning had led to the closure of many businesses around the Mc Donald’s restaurant in Soupertard, at the end of avenue Jean-Chaubet in Toulouse. The employees of these signs had first been taken to safety in a taco restaurant before being extracted with the greatest caution to return to the security perimeter.

Snipers en position
The Raid had been deployed, with snipers in position, because the author of the phone calls accurately described the places and the movements of people. So he was nearby. As he announced that an armed man was coming to the area, imminent violent action was to be feared.
In the end, businesses lost many hours of operation and residents were unable to return to their homes. They remained, for some, to observe the important deployment of police officers in their district a good part of the day.
