Terror attack near Paris: man is stabbed and perpetrator shot by police

According to the French television channel BFMTV, the body of a man with serious injuries to the throat was discovered around five o’clock this afternoon in Conflans Saint-Honorine, a municipality northwest of Paris. It would be a high school teacher. The victim had died.

The local police then reported a man with a large knife who had fled. It was found a little later near a school in the neighboring municipality of Eragny. He is said to have threatened the police and they then shot the suspected perpetrator.

According to witnesses, the perpetrator would have shouted slogans like “Allah akbar” (god is greatest), which would indicate the act of an extremist Muslim. Police sources also say that the teacher showed cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in the history lesson in the school and may be the reason for the murder.
