Alba Berlin has put a big exclamation mark in the basketball Bundesliga. On Sunday evening, after a dominant performance at long-term rivals FC Bayern Munich, Berlin won 100: 62 (52:30). After two defeats in the last three games, Alba consolidated second place again. The best throwers from Berlin were captain Niels Giffey and Ben Lammers with 15 points each.
In the German championship, Peyton Siva and Louis Olinde, who were recently weak in shape, were given a breather, but Lammers and Malte Delow were there again. It took the Berliners a few minutes to find their way into the game. After a 0: 4 start they found their rhythm more and more. After almost five and a half minutes, they took the lead for the first time with 14:11.
At the beginning of the second quarter Bayern regained the lead (24:23), but then Alba turned up. They pulled away with a 19-2 run. The guests succeeded in almost everything in this phase. They worked very carefully on the defensive and the throws fell in front. Alba was wide awake, while the Bavarians looked tired and unable to concentrate. At the break, the lead even increased to 22 points.
And after changing sides, the Berliners seamlessly continued with the second quarter. They still had everything under control and continued to play confidently without giving up much. And at Bayern there was no sign of rebellion. At the beginning of the last quarter, the lead increased to over 40 points for the first time (87:46). (dpa)
