PYONGYANG, KOMPAS.TV – A defector from North Korea said it was very dangerous to celebrate Christmas in the closed country.
Even Kim Jong-un’s regime will immediately execute anyone who celebrates it.
In North Korea, having a religion is forbidden.
This then made North Korean Christians practice their beliefs secretly.

December 24, which is Christmas Eve, is also confirmed to be absent in North Korea.
There, the date is used to celebrate the Birthday of Kim Jong-suk, wife of North Korea’s first leader, Kim Il-sung, and grandmother of Kim Jong-un.
This was revealed by Timothy Cho, who is a fugitive from North Korea.
Cho who now works for Open Doors, a charity that helps support persecuted Christians, said anyone caught practicing Christian worship or otherwise would be shot dead by Kim Jong-un’s assassination squad.
“I’m sure they will continue to be hunted. There’s no doubt about that,” Cho told Express.
