Greek prosecutors are investigating an organized crime group that issued fake vaccination certificates.
Doctors complained to the authorities that they were pressured to issue false positive antibody tests, offering them 200 euros each.
The police investigation has so far identified two medical personnel who entered people in the national register who had not actually been vaccinated.
In the immunization center in the town of Karditsa, where about 6,000 people live, according to documents, 40,000 vaccinations have been carried out. It is assumed, according to other medics, that the tariff was about 200 euros for the “service”.
In connection with this case, medics told the media that from different parts of the country they gave signals of pressure and attempts to be bribed to issue not only fake certificates, but also positive tests for the presence of antibodies after the virus, which releases from vaccination in the next six months.
It is assumed that in other places there is a risk that they acted under this scheme, police and lawyers told the media.
Health Minister Thanassis Plevris said the government was urgently introducing a change to the law in parliament with very high fines and criminal liability for forging a health certificate.
