Terres d’Eure-et-Loir has been promoting local products for twenty years

It testifies to the diversification of agricultural production, over time, in Eure-et-Loir. Last Monday, the annual general meeting of the Terre d’Eure-et-Loir association took place at one of its members in Coltainville. Last year, this same general meeting welcomed the attraction of consumers for local products, following the health crisis, and therefore the interest of a brand like Terres d’Eure-et-Loir in enabling identify them.

Communicate more

This year, the news, shaken up by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the general rise in prices, calls this enthusiasm into question: “The Terres d’Eure-et-Loir brand continues to develop, thanks to the investment of the members of the association, welcomed Éric Thirouin, president of the Eure-et-Loir Chamber of Agriculture, present at the general assembly of the association. But there is a feeling of concern about the inflationary situation, and the behavior of consumers who shun organic or even local farming. This disaffection comes from the idea that the premises would be more expensive. »

Terres d’Eure-et-Loir announces promising projects

Faced with this phenomenon, the members of the office of the Terres d’Eure-et-Loir association see it as an opportunity to implement stronger communication actions: “It’s up to us to show that local products are not necessarily more expensive and above all to highlight their quality”, underlined Matthieu Bonnet and Samuel de Smet, respectively president and vice-president of the structure.

Working with restaurants

Another way forward highlighted: working in partnership with restaurateurs, who, if they use the brand’s products, do not necessarily adhere to them. “Our charter seems to be a brake,” pointed out Matthieu Bonnet. Perhaps the upcoming meetings, mentioned by Bruno Levassor, chef of the Tripot in Chartres, will succeed in involving the Eurelian restaurateurs.

Next appointments. Je Croqu’Eurélien market in Illiers-Combray on June 18 and in Chartres on September 9, 2022.
