Terraces may open again on 1 June Inland

For the time being, trains, buses and metros will remain intended for necessary journeys, such as for people with a vital profession. From June onwards, students from secondary education will join when they can go back to school.

Since it is not certain whether everyone can maintain the desired 1.5 meter distance, travelers should or should wear mouth masks to mitigate the risk of infection with the coronavirus. In some other countries, such as Belgium, this has been mandatory since the beginning of this week. At six train stations, signs and pictograms have already been posted with instructions for travelers to keep a sufficient distance, especially when the weather gets busier.

Hairdressers

It is not yet clear which conditions are linked to the restart of contact professions such as hairdressers. The Outbreak Management Team (OMT) of experts met on Monday for its advice to the cabinet. On Wednesday, the ministerial crisis council will decide on the further relaxation of the corona measures. The Cabinet is also looking at the exact dates on which the amended measures will take effect.

The cabinet’s motto to stay at home is also changing in the new phase. People will soon be urged to keep their distance or to avoid busy places.

Most of the corona measures continued until May 20 and June 1. The ban on events had already been extended to September 1.

Primary schools and childcare open their doors on May 11. Children have been allowed to exercise together again since the end of April.
