The ‘Santa Maria’ hospital in Terni has a new director for the complex structure with university apicality for the infectious disease clinic. More than a year after the announcement of the public competition for the assignment of the five-year assignment – it was February 6, 2020 – the process was formally concluded: there is the go-ahead until 2026 for the only participant in the selection, the Perugia native professor Maria Bruna Pasticci. The green light of the general manager Pasquale Chiarelli arrived on Friday following the favorable opinion expressed by the council of the department of medicine and surgery of the University of Perugia.

Path
Pasticci, born in 1953, has been active at the University of Perugia for over three decades: from 1990 to 2003 she was a full-time researcher for medical assistance, research and teaching support, then from January 2014 onwards she was professor associate – infectious diseases – of the department of medicine and surgery. On a scientific level – among the many topics covered – he has also worked on the elaboration of clinical-microbiological epidemiology data, diagnosis of lung infections in immunocompromised patients and specific problems related to people with HIV.
Monday debut
Pasticci took over from Dr. Michele Palumbo, who headed the structure as acting for over a year. Monday morning a short ceremony with the handover: “Doctor Palumbo – explain from the ‘Santa Maria’ – symbolically handed over to the new director the plaque of the Golden Star, which the hospital company received from the Municipality of Terni and by the Pro loco di Miranda last December in recognition of the work of health workers during the pandemic ». Present the doctor Cinzia Di Giuli of infectious diseases, the dg Chiarelli and the medical director Sandro Vendetti: “Professor Pasticci – the words of the latter – finds a very cohesive team with great professionalism, and we are sure that she will continue along these directives . Due to the pandemic, the complex structure had to strengthen its service capacity: on this front the management intends to proceed towards a path of staff stabilization ». In this sense, the indefinite hiring of Dr. Lavinia Maria Saraca from 1 April is coming.
