Cartagena hospitals Santa Lucia and Santa Maria del Rosell have launched a pioneering protocol in Spain that allows patients with severe pathologies and in terminal situations to receive their pets in the rooms where they are admitted.
This Tuesday has passed through Window the supervisor of this program, Juan Luis González Saura, who explained that recently it was allowed in the first one that a patient with reduced mobility was with his dog and on the terrace of the hospital a room has been set up to facilitate this encounter with the animals for those who can move within the enclosure.

This nursing initiative of the health area of Cartagena aims to help patients and humanize your stay by allowing them to say goodbye to their pets.
The medical and nursing team of the palliative care unit will study each request and determine if the visit is feasible and convenient.
The palliative units of both hospitals registered 325 admitted patients in 2017, 298 in 2018 and 200 in 2019.
