Thiruvananthapuram: The Youth Congress filed a complaint demanding the removal of Youth Commission Chairperson Chinta Jerome. Youth Congress State Secretary Vishnu Sunil has filed a complaint with the Governor, alleging that he stayed in office longer than allowed and misused his authority.

It was established under the Kerala State Youth Commission Act, 2014 with the objectives of nurturing the skills of the youth, equipping them for better education and empowering the youth.

Chinta Jerome was first appointed on 04-10-2016. The appointment period is 3 years. According to the complaint, under the Youth Commission Act, a person is entitled to be appointed to the post twice. But six years have passed since Chinta Jerome was appointed. But they are not ready to leave their post. The complaint states that despite the end of the working period, he is still in the position only to collect the salary for the grace period.

After the salary controversy, the accommodation controversy in the luxury resort, there is a demand to oust Chinta Jerome. Vishnu Sunil had complained that he had received death threats for reacting against Chinta Jerome. It was after this that the governor was approached with the request to expel Chinta.
