Both the Power Grid Committee and Aasland emphasize that the power grid must be developed in the most socially rational way possible – without unnecessary costs for consumers or nature.
– Then it is important that we do not expand more networks than we have to, says Aasland to Nationen.
– Small time margins
On the coldest day of the year, the power grid has a capacity of up to 25,000 megawatts (MW), according to the sample. One of their conclusions is that the current power grid must be better utilized.
– There may be small time margins, for example the one block we want to use extremely much electricity in January. Then a company may be able to disconnect, and we will avoid network development, says Aasland.
