Teralys, a subsidiary of Al Mada, acquires the European Nutkao

TERALYS, a subsidiary of Al Mada specializing in the agri-food sector, continues its international expansion by announcing the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the acquisition of NUTKAO, a major European player in the processing of cocoa and vegetable proteins. This acquisition took place as part of an international competitive process. The finalization of the transaction is subject to obtaining the required administrative authorizations.

Founded in 1982, NUTKAO is a group specializing in the production and distribution of cocoa, hazelnut and pistachio products. The group has production units in Italy, Belgium and the United States, as well as a cocoa processing plant in Ghana. NUTKAO markets a wide range of products in 80 countries, with a focus on innovation to meet new consumer trends.

This acquisition is part of TERALYS’ long-term strategy, which aims to invest in structuring projects for the agro-industry, while promoting African resources and developing local production. It follows the acquisition of the Senegalese group PATISEN in 2023, and will enable the implementation of industrial and commercial synergies between the two entities. TERALYS also aims to strengthen NUTKAO’s position in certain markets, particularly in Africa, and to launch new products to support its growth.
