Mexico City. The specialized regional chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) decided to fine the president of Morena, Mario Delgado, 21,714 pesos for having disseminated videos on his social networks in which minors appear without prior permission to show their faces.
In the public session, the plenary also resolved to impose various fines on the Morena, PT, Verde Ecologista, PAN, PRI and MC parties for violations of the electoral propaganda rules that the political forces committed in various situations during the 2024 electoral process, both for graffiti on walls of public buildings, as well as for television and radio promos that violate concepts in their coalitions, as well as for the appearance of minors without prior authorization.
In this order of matters in which it was determined to establish fines, the magistrates of the specialized chamber resolved in more than four cases to fine the PAN and the PRI, as well as to reprimand the PRD for violating the rules of electoral propaganda, since in videos disseminated on the official social networks of its then candidate Xóchitl Gálvez, minors appeared without the permits established by the electoral law.
In four other cases, the specialized chamber determined to fine Morena, PT and the Verde Ecologista for placing electoral propaganda on urban equipment intended for public services, for which in a first case it resolved a financial penalty equivalent to 10,587 pesos for each party, while in a second case a fine of 8,865 pesos was approved for each party, derived from graffiti on walls of public buildings.
In a third case, the plenary resolved to impose another fine of 10,587 pesos on each of the three parties of the coalition Let’s Continue Making History for the placement of electoral propaganda in urban facilities, since the existence of 19 posters on posts that offer public lighting in the municipality of Gómez Palacio, in Durango, was proven.
In the fourth matter, Morena, PT and Verde Ecologista were sanctioned for placing propaganda on walls that constitute urban equipment in Zumpango, in the state of Mexico, with which they added another 10,587 pesos of fine for each one.
The judges also ruled that during President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s morning press conference on May 20, Profeco head David Aguilar Romero violated the electoral ban by disseminating government propaganda, as he presented government achievements and actions that sought the support of citizens.
