Around the figure and work of Rogelio Groba
The The Grave Festival will bring together leading artists of international prestige in Ponteareas to celebrate the tenth anniversary of a musical, artistic and formative meeting organized around the figure and work of the composer Rogelio Grobathe most prolific and influential of the Galician authors, still active at the age of ninety-two.

Besides the Galician Chamber Orchestraresident orchestra of the The Grave Festivalthis new edition will feature the presence of the Portuguese flutist Adriana Ferreirathe Catalan soprano Laura del Riothe violinists Rimma Benyumova from Germany (instead of Stella Chen) and Karen Gomyo from Japan or the Portuguese-Israeli cellist Kyril Zlotnikovwhich he repeats after his experience in the last edition.
There will also be four pianists, the Basque Judith Jaureguithe Moldovan Marianna Prjevalskaya and the Galicians Richard White y Gem Ariaswho had already participated as Young Galician Talent in the 2019 edition. The program will be completed with the Galician clarinetist Luis Miguel Mendez and the pontearean cellist Alba Reiris.
Among this year’s novelties, the launch of a mentorship program stands out, offering not only free chamber music classes taught by the main artists invited to the festival, but will complement the training of these new talents with professional management and career advice.
It will also offer the opportunity for the new residency group to present themselves to the festival audience by participating in various concerts and even sharing the stage with some of their mentors. The formation selected to start this new project is the Finnish quartet Erinyswho continue their training as a quartet at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
As for the composers who will be present this year, we continue to highlight the work of maestro Groba, protagonist of the festival whose works will be performed in almost all the concerts, including the world premiere of the work Ancient Dances.
The program is completed with works by A. Ginastera, L. Boccherini, J. Haydn, B.Bartok, A. Pitch, W.A. Mozart, D. Sostakovich, B. Britten, A. Dvorak, F. Schubert, A. Dohnanyi, A. Vivaldi, K. Saariaho y J. Grundman.
