“The delivery of combat drones will enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities amid growing air threats,” the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Wednesday (11/17/2021).
According to Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, the country will acquire more Bayraktar drones next year.

He pointed out the new equipment will be called “Ukrainian Bayraktar” even though it is manufactured in Turkey.

Last month, the Kremlin said Turkey’s supply of drones to Ukraine risked destabilizing the eastern Ukraine conflict, despite Moscow’s “special” relationship with Ankara.

Currently Turkey and Russia maintain close relations in various fields, including military and defense.
Russia will help Turkey develop a fifth-generation fighter jet. Turkey has also obtained supplies of S-400 air defense missiles from Russia.
