Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday (11/30/2021) that NATO collects a large amount of military equipment on Russia’s borders.
Speaking at a press conference with the Brazilian Foreign Minister, Lavrov also noted that Moscow could not rule out the possibility of Ukraine carrying out some kind of “military effort” that would pose a threat to Russia.

“President Putin talked about this on November 18… he stressed that we don’t need conflict but if the West can’t contain Ukraine, but, on the contrary, pushes it, of course, we will take all necessary steps to ensure our security,” he said. Lavrov.

He added, “For a while the West has been provoking Ukraine, and not just Ukraine, to take anti-Russian action.”
The Russian Foreign Minister also expressed hope that Kiev “will not follow the path of Mikhail Saakashvili in August 2008.”
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who earlier arrived in Riga to meet the Latvian Foreign Minister and attend the NATO Ministers’ Meeting, vowed “serious consequences” in case of “renewed Russian aggression” in Ukraine.
