Tensions Escalate: Israeli Army Intensifies Air Strikes on Southern Lebanon Villages amid Exchange of Fire – Latest Updates

NNA – Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper wrote: The Israeli army intensified its air strikes on villages and border areas in southern Lebanon, announcing that it had attacked Hezbollah’s “infrastructure,” amidst a continuous exchange of fire, and Lebanese expectations that the Israeli war of attrition against… Lebanon.

More than 5 months after the start of the war in southern Lebanon, the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Lebanese caretaker government, Abdullah Bou Habib, ruled out that “Israel would launch a ground war against Lebanon because it knows that such a war would not be a picnic for it,” but he expected that “the war would be prolonged.” “The attrition launched by Israel through its drones,” referring to Israeli military activity through the air force and drones.

In an interview with Lebanon’s official television, Bou Habib maintained his previous rejection of “half-measures by ignoring or neglecting the issue of Israel’s withdrawal from the Shebaa Farms and the Kfar Shuba Hills because they are a free gift to Israel and lead to renewed conflict later.” Bou Habib said, “I agree with President Michel Aoun’s position on the unity of the squares, but I am dealing with the fait accompli,” stressing the importance of “increasing the number of the army and providing it with equipment through the assistance of the concerned countries so that it can further strengthen its deployment south of the Litani.”

This comes in light of pressure on the Israeli government to carry out military action against Lebanon, with the aim of removing the “Hezbollah threat.” Hebrew media quoted the head of the Margaliot settlement, Eitan Davidi, as saying in a radio statement: “We, the citizens, will give time to the State of Israel to work in the north because we must remove this threat, called Hezbollah, from the fence settlements.” He added: “We know that this matter will not be easy, but we have no other choice but to remove this threat, otherwise we will not be able to return this region to this land.”

All diplomatic efforts to end the ongoing war in the south since October 8 have failed, and the front is witnessing an escalating pace of fighting. The Israeli army announced an attack on Hezbollah’s “infrastructure,” and said that its planes “attacked terrorist infrastructure of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the Kunine region.” An Israeli missile was found to have fallen at night in the town of Mays al-Jabal in southern Lebanon. It did not explode, and the place was closed pending the arrival of the engineering team from the Lebanese army.

The warplanes launched a raid on Baraashit in the western sector. He launched 3 successive raids on one target in the town of Kunene. He also raided the town of Naqoura, targeting one of its houses, and ambulances headed to the scene.

Sirens sounded in Israeli border towns in southern Lebanon, after Hezbollah targeted Israeli sites near the border, according to Israeli media, while Israeli reports indicated that the “Iron Dome” system was activated in the skies over the Galilee Finger, “after detecting a suspicious air target.” From Lebanon, it was later reported that a rocket shell had fallen in an open area in “Kfar Blum.”

The Israeli army said that it intercepted “a suspicious air target that crossed Lebanese territory towards Israeli territory in the (Kfar Blum) area.”

Hezbollah announced the bombing of the Ruwaisat Al-Alam site, and also targeted with missile weapons the Al-Samaqa site in the Kfar Shuba hills area, which Lebanon considers occupied by Israel.

The Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flew over the villages of the western and central sectors, reaching the outskirts of the city of Tyre, after the Israeli side fired flares at night over the villages of the districts of Tyre and Bint Jbeil. The Israeli aircraft violated the sound barrier over Sidon, Al-Zahrani, and Iqlim Al-Tuffah, causing great terror in the Iqlim Al-Kharroub and Sidon areas due to the huge sound it caused, and caused glass to break in homes in the Jezzine district.

Yesterday evening, Israeli warplanes carried out a series of raids on the outskirts of the town of Naqoura, Jabal al-Labouneh, Alma al-Shaab, and Tayr Harfa.
