Early in the morning, the sky brightens with a loud bang.
Israeli airstrikes have begun on the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
Rocket cannons to counter the attack also climb up with their tails.
The Israeli military said it had attacked 10 Hamas strongholds and weapons factories in Gaza.
However, as bombs hit residential areas and hospitals, civilians also suffered damage.

Israeli forces also attacked southern Lebanon.
The airstrikes were in retaliation for firing 34 rockets at Israel the day before.
The stronghold of the Palestinian militant group Hamas was the main target.
Israel officially confirmed the attack on Hamas.

Terrorist shootings against civilians fueled the conflict.
A car driving on a highway near a Jewish settlement in the West Bank was shot and killed.
Two women were killed and the mother seriously injured.
Israel sees it as a Palestinian act.
[베냐민 네타냐후 / 이스라엘 총리 : 적들이 우리를 다시 시험하고 있습니다. 우리는 이 시험에서 함께 단결하고, 정의를 확신해야 합니다.]
After a UN-mediated ceasefire in 2006, clashes between the two sides have been intermittent and not large-scale.
However, tensions in the powder keg in the Middle East are reaching their peak as attacks and retaliations followed by shootings.
