Tensions Decline, Putin Calls Dialogue with Ukraine Positive

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Russian President Vladimir Putin said there was progress in talks between the Kremlin and Ukraine. However, he did not explain further the results of the dialogue that had been carried out.

“There have been some positive changes as we have been told by our delegation,” he said according to the translation NBC News and quoted CNBC InternationalFriday (11/3/2022).

Meanwhile, the statement was made after Putin met with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Moscow. Petin said dialogue between Russia and Ukraine takes place every day.

On the other hand, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also made positive statements. He said that currently Kyiv had reached a strategic turning point in this attack.

He did not specify exactly what this turning point meant. He only asked the Ukrainians to be together until victory was achieved.

“It is impossible to say how many days we still have to liberate Ukrainian land. But we can say we will. Because we have reached a strategic turning point,” Zelensky said in a televised address Friday (11/3/2022).

Zelensky also reiterated his push for stronger steps from the European Union to punish the Kremlin. He requested that there be more severe blows and the attacks would continue.

So far, no peace agreement has been reached diplomatically between Russia and Ukraine. Most recently, negotiations in Turkey between the two Foreign Ministers only resulted in a temporary ceasefire for the evacuation of civilians.
