Doctors advise everyone to follow health measures while vacationing in Greece because of a new strong wave with Covid-19. For now, the islands where there is a concentration of tourists are at high risk.
Every second test on the island of Mykonos, for example, is positive for Covid-19, according to the Greek Ministry of Health. More than 30% are infected with the virus on the islands of Santorini and Milos, according to the results of the samples taken. On other islands, there is an increase in the number of carriers of the virus, but to a lesser extent. The exception is the island of Thassos with isolated cases of infection.
Health Minister Thanos Pleuris said the wave of new infections has not put pressure on the health system so far. Due to the high temperatures, the government is not considering returning the masks until September.
