The Government of Guatemala, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed in a statement its unequivocal condemnation and deep concern about Iran’s attacks against the State of Israel and the consequences that these actions will have on hundreds of thousands of innocent lives, in neighboring countries, as well as regional peace and stability, he describes.
To this extent, the Guatemalan authorities call on the parties to exercise extreme restraint and to seek solutions peacefully to avoid escalating the conflict in the Middle East.
“We urge all parties to immediately comply with their corresponding obligations under international law, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all States,” they conclude.
THE EVENT
According to international media, the attack had already been predicted by both Israel and the international community.
They envisioned it as Iran’s response to the Israeli offensive against the Iranian consulate in Damascus, where seven members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) died, one of the fatalities being Mohammed Reza Zahedi, former commander of the IRGC.
