Complex gate Masjid Al-Aqsa which is in Jerusalem blocked by Police personnel Israel when Friday prayers will be held. The atmosphere at the holy complex, which is usually busy with worshipers, is reported to be quiet, with people not allowed to go inside.
As reported Al Jazeera and CNN, Friday (27/10/2023), Israeli Police personnel strictly regulate who can enter the holy complex. Israeli police reportedly only allowed a few people inside.
There was no official explanation by the Israeli Police regarding their reasons for denying people access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex. This of course creates even more tension.
CNN reported that a tense situation was observed at the holy complex ahead of Friday Prayers on Friday (27/10) local time.
Report Al Jazeera said that a conflict situation was observed at the Lion’s Gate, which is the normal entrance to the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex, with several men being physically assaulted by Israeli police.
A man tried to explain that he wanted to perform Friday prayers at the holy complex, but he was beaten by the police.
CNN The report also stated that disputes and fights occurred between several Muslim congregations and Israeli police which made the situation increasingly heated. Israeli police, say CNNforcefully pushed people out of the alley leading to the holy complex.
Even the team CNN reported witnessing a group of heavily armed police aggressively pushing a young woman out of the way as she tried to record the situation on her mobile phone.
