There was tension at the 2020 Ordinary Administrative and Financial General Assembly held at Beşiktaş’s Akatlar Sports Hall.
Things got tense after Ali Rıza Dizdar, one of the members who took the podium and made a speech, criticized General Secretary Mesut Urgancılar.
Standing up to the podium, Dizdar cited the items in the 2020 annual report as an example and said, “Secretary General, you did not apply to the prosecutor’s office even though you put this report here.

We have come from yesterday. Now he is looking very high. I will not acquit this place because of the Secretary General,” he said. After these words, Secretary General Mesut Urgancılar used his right to speak.

After Ali Rıza Dizdar’s statements, Secretary General Mesut Urgancılar, who took the podium, reacted to Dizdar and said, “This is the Beşiktaş General Assembly. It is not a platform where people will vomit their own jealousy, their own inadequacies, their own envy, one way or another. Yesterday we were fools, today we are accused of other things. He reminded himself of the previous conversation. We became champions in 2003. At that time, I was the president of the Black and White Association, a successful group in Beşiktaş. What you cannot digest is this; I’m a grocery boy. I studied at the best schools in Turkey. My Beşiktaş adventure started in the old open when I moved to Istanbul in 1990 and ended at the number one. Despite those diplomas, someone could not digest how they were sitting here. For 2 years you have been trying to discredit some of my board friends through me. We are not animals, we are human, we have other lives. We kept silent out of respect for your age. I read the report here yesterday, I did not interpret the report. I read it because of my official duty. In addition, the Secretary General is the official representative, ‘you, me, lanlı, lunlu’ cannot speak. Those who see it as a big nose will first learn manners. The speaker just recently, I guess, has had a completely different elbow contact with someone lately that he is trying to discredit me. The perceptions that they have been saying ‘They cannot explain, they cannot do’ for 2 years ended yesterday. The report has been read here, then there is the legal process. Now they are making the same perceptions again. We don’t do that with the keyboard knights out there. Do not try to discredit me here for the white days of Beşiktaş, for the brave Beşiktaş. I have nothing but my life, and I don’t owe anyone anything,” he said.
VOTING RESULT EXCLUDED
After Mesut Urgancılar’s speech, Ali Rıza Dizdar reacted.
After the other general assembly members reacted to Dizdar, the Chairman of the General Assembly Council, Engin Baltacı, called the security officers and demanded that Ali Rıza Dizdar be removed from the hall. When Dizdar did not leave the hall, Engin Baltacı returned to the general assembly and requested a vote to remove Ali Rıza Dizdar. When the General Assembly Members voted to remove Dizdar, the private security guards took Ali Rıza Dizdar out of the hall. In this process, in response to the proposal of the Vice Chairman of the Council of the Council to take the police into the hall, the Chairman of the Council, Engin Baltacı, said, “I will not let the police in here,” and asked the private security guards to take Ali Rıza Dizdar out of the hall.
