‘Shadowverse’ returns to the ring, but this time it is not about its animated series but about a new collaboration between the video game and the protagonists of ‘Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen’ (‘Kaguya-sama: Love is War ‘).
Kaguya, Shirogane, and Chika will be available in the app starting March 30 as game leaders, including poses, iconic phrases from the series, and hours of fun.
If you want to show off your love for anime and manga, this is your chance, as the collaboration will run until May 2 in Japan, giving fans just over a month to enjoy this installment.
If you still do not know what the characters will look like after their launch, the good news is that two days ago, the official channel of ‘Shadowverse’ revealed promotional teasers.
In each one you will find Chika, Shirogane and Kaguya revealing each of their movements and phrases, while they face powerful and boring challengers on screen that you can see below.
Let’s talk about Shadowverse
Developed by Cygames, Shadowverse is one of the most popular trading card games in Japan for 2016, which had a great reception in the West upon its release in 2017.
With a visual style reminiscent of characters from Japanese animated series and gameplay similar to Blizzard Entertainment’s Hearthstone, Shadowverse is a huge success thanks to its compatibility with smartphones, making it an accessible game that you can take anywhere.
One of the great differences that it has with other games of the same branch is that it has the “Evolution” system that allows players to spend “Evolution Points”, acquired in the games to grant bonuses to their cards.
In each game, two players chosen at random, face off with a hand of three cards each alternately that are represented by a leader with 20 defense points. The first player gets 2 evolution points, while the second player gets three, in addition to the possibility of evolving their cards one turn before their rival.
The objective of the game is to reduce the defense of the opposing player to 0 points or to leave the opponent without any cards in their deck.
Shadowverse is available on iOS, Android, and for PC via Steam.
