As always, countries hosting Grand Slams get a wild card. Alexandre Müller was designated for the French side. The former national number 1 had a good season on the secondary circuit, – title in San Marino – and is ranked 77th in the world. He has never won a single match in the main draw of theUS Open. The Australian Tristan Schoolkatewith a steady rise, won the Australian WC. On the American side, there are four of them. Chris Eubanks (123e), Zachary Svajda (110e), Learner Tien (232nd) and Matthew Forbes (1,843rd) were chosen.
